It's a lot easier to change "make install" in a spec file to "make
altinstall" than it is to rewrite a bytecode interpreter/analyzer. So
unless the fraction ends up being much, much greater than 1, yes.

Not that I'm saying it shouldn't be done of course; it's just far from
trivial.
