it can...if you are using it for science!  Not working at all is far
far better than working and giving you the wrong calculation.

I tested some of the exposed geos functions involving great circle
calculations and things seem okay.

But I did find that the examples scripts in the package haven't been
ported yet...la la la. Silly upstream need to file some patches with
them.
