Generally speaking, not referring to your proposal, these counter
proposals/critical remarks often are motivated from
a) Don't break what's not broken
b) A proposal is incomplete and misses to cover essential parts of a
problem.
c) A proposal is replacing one problem with another one.
d) A proposal is naive, silly and dumb.

In most cases, it's b) or c).
