Unless you're talking about packaging it this is somewhat off topic.

And given that media codecs are a patent minefield, and XBMC does not
appear to use gstreamer or xinelib, it may require significant work to
make it "patent clean" enough for Fedora. Looks like it's built on top
of mplayer. It also seems to bundle in all the libraries it uses.
