Do we care about /sbin /bin linked to /usr/lib ?

Nothing involved in booting off of USB requires lsusb.  It's purely a
diagnostic tool.  And you can get all of the information also via /proc
or /sys

It has to be in /sbin because mount helpers are only looked for in /sbin
