PPC build error regarding cc1plus and msse2 for qtpfsgui

My recent build [1] (buildlog [2]) of a new qtpfsgui is failing with the
following error on PPC architectures:

cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-msse2"

Any thoughts?
