It's nice, that you are interesting to develop linux applications.
Because you
want to use C as programming language, I would propose, that you may
use the gtk+
toolkit.
Because GNOME is the sttandard desktop of Fedora, you have only to
install the
gtk2-devel package on your system.
Unfortunately, I'm prefering Qt, so I can't give you forther
information, but I think
the documentation of gtk should help you to take your first steps.
