Why do we need FC version attached to the package name?

That yum update is now stable:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/F10/FEDORA-2009-5328
so it is now NO LONGER POSSIBLE (!!!) and WILL NEVER (!) BE POSSIBLE AGAIN
(!!!) to upgrade an updated Fedora 10 to Fedora 11 using the DVD installer
without breaking yum. Only a respin can help... until the next yum update
in F10!

Upgrades using the DVD installer are broken by design. We got lucky until
now, but this time the DVD has become completely useless for upgrades,
unless you like having to fetch an updated yum by hand (which, if you are a
KDE user, you have to do from runlevel 3 because KDE (including KDM) is
also broken after the upgrade for basically the same reason yum is - good
luck with the command-line ftp! I've had my fun fixing a relative's system
that way), installing it with rpm -Uvh and then running it to fix the
remaining breakage (e.g. KDE). Fedora CANNOT be upgraded with a method not
including updates.

We really need to fix the download page not to recommend the DVD for
upgrades (and I'll ping the websites team about that). I think preupgrade
>= 1.1.0 is the only solution we can officially recommend.
