You ran for an election for a representative body. This body takes votes. 
You made a proposal and your proposal was rejected by a quorum of the 
representative body. Explain to me how that is NOT democratic.

If you vote for candidate X and candidate Y wins and the election is 
otherwise fair, does it mean democracy has failed or succeeded.

Democracy and representative democracy means that sometimes your opinion 
is not the one that everyone agrees with. It means sometimes you lose. It 
doesn't mean the system is broken, it means your ideas did not sway more 
opinions.

That's it.

Please cut the drama, it is tiresome.
