"How is a regular user supposed to use this system?". Your system? Or my
system. I prefer to use my system. My sound works just fine thank you.

Now if you turn off the 'rant mode' and provide some more information,
other than "Sound Just Doesn't Work (TM)!" I would think that several
here might be more than willing to try to help you.
