Acceso a X remotamente

Estimados:
En el siguiente escenario tenemos:
1 PC con Fedora Core 1.
1 Pc con Red Hat 8

Desde la Pc con FC1 queremos acceder remotamente a las X (pantalla
grafica) con el siguiente comando:

X :9 -query 123.123.123.123

y me sale en el tty8 (ctrl-alt-F8) solamente una pantalla en negro con
el cursor del mouse en forma de "X" en el medio... y nada mas.
En la sesion donde lo llamo (por ej.: una sesion normal de pantalla)
aparece esto, lo que debo cortar con Ctrl+C:
