I don't think so, I just ran into this problem yesterday doing my koji import. I imported to the devel/ branch but it applied .fc7 tags, and then I couldn't force the tag on F-7 as the tag was on a different branch :(

Ok. I took another look at both cvs-import.sh scripts and I still can't see how the redhat one can do the tagging right, since they both use

  NVR=$(rpm -qp --qf "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}" $PACKAGE

unlike Makefile.common which seems to set %dist and parse the branches file. But perhaps I'm missing something.

So the easiest solution to me still seems to be to disable tagging and make people run "make tag" by hand (oh! the effort;) and silence Mailhot... ;-)
