If you read it optimistically.  Tzafrir Cohen mentioned on the
asterisk-devel list that SpanDSP is in Debian.  May be worth a search of
the debian lists to see if they have discussed the issue there.  FWIW, I
have already packaged SpanDSP and it's not hard to add the Rx/TxFAX apps
to Asterisk.
