Niether the istanbul-0.1.0-2 and istanbul-0.1.1-1 from that directory
is building against the fedora core development tree for me inside
mock.  mock's build log contains:
checking for GTK... configure: error: Python headers missing
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.23171 (%build)

It looks like you need to add a BuildRequires for gtk2-devel  and
python-devel to the spec. Once I add those 2 BuildRequires mock build
goes through against the fedora development tree.
