I only use such packages with amavisd-new. Hence why they work for me,
and why I favor something like clamav-amavisd.

It isn't an irrational anger. It is that the package in it's current
state is a poor excuse for a package. Packages in my view should ideally
work without any configuration in most cases. One of the main reasons I
like packages is that you can easily known what is part of a package and
also easily uninstall it. Enrico's package break such ideas. Since you
have to manually setup files the package can't be easily uninstalled
with just a rpm -e. Where as with clamav-(package) packages, they could
just work and could be uninstalled fairly cleanly.

A big part of why I asked for it to be removed is that I think for
most people packages from other repos do a better job, and hence the
package from extras gets in the way. That is on top of the issues I
brought up above.

I am willing to work with someone on creating clamav-(package)
packages if it is what it takes to get rid of the current clamav
package.
