The other bug (the weird screenshot) is (I have found) that winecfg
needs the Arial.ttf font. If I put this in my ~/.fonts everything works.

I guess it could also be available system-wide. But obviously wine
doesn't find anything on my system until I put it in some obvious place
like ~/.fonts.

I will experiment more with this and see if there is some package adding
the Arial.ttf font system-wide. You don't happen to have it installed
somewhere on your machine, have you? (find /usr |grep Arial)
