debuginfo should not be removed in this way. Your problems are caused by

| %{_libdir}/*

you should either add an

| %exclude %_libdir/debug

or enumerate the files in %_libdir (should be doable with wildcards).


When mpich2 ships libraries which can be used by applications, the package
should be splitted into a main and a -devel subpackage. Or, at least you should
'Provide: %name-devel = %version-%release'
