Is there an upstream source for which an md5sum can be checked?
The source tarballs seems to contain just two files - one I can read with a text
editor, one I can not read with a text editor.

I assume this is coming from somewhere.

How is the .dat file generated, and shouldn't it be generated inside the %build
section from its source?

Excuse my ignorance with respect to the way fortune works.
