free numerical recipes api implementation

Hi,

I am considering packaging a program that uses the numerical recipes 
API (in C but it doesn't matter much). Is there a free software 
implementation of that API? (maybe a front end for another library, for 
example gsl) that would be suitable for inclusion in fedora extras (or 
allready included...)? I have searched the net without success.
