There is one last remark (I am sorry for being so picky :-) ), there is 
a line in the spec file: 
 
# extracted from 001-enable-shared-libs 
 
Yet you don't seem to build shared libraries. 
 
What I propose is for this package to follow the convention of all other 
library packages. Place the documentation in the main package, as well as 
the shared libraries, and place the included files and the static libraries 
in the devel package. 
 
You already do the later, I suggest to do also the former. Even although we 
don't ship shared libraries now I expect us to ship them later. This would 
provides us with a natural evolution and it follows the same scheme that 
is used in both Core and Extras packages. 
 
Does this makes sense?
