To me, cmake is the return of Imake in different clothes. AFAICT, it
suffers from the design flaws as imake did, but due to it's "youth" it
probably suffers from even worse defects/bugs/unflexibility.

Every developer has the freedom to chose his poison :-)
Cmake isn't the tool I'd chose.

However, my remark on the PR (the part you cut) was implied to say:
Given the fact upstream initng is switch the basis of their
configuration, disqualifies this package as not stable/mature mature
