Please rebuild your packages in the development tree of Fedora Extras

False? What didn't work out in the end?

Also, the effective situation is not any different from that with FC4,
fedora.us etc.. The only real difference is "maintainers have access to
the build system".

Do you think so? From my experience, "last minute changes/updates" are
the number one cause of most severe bugs.

The mass rebuild is wasted effort, and trying to let it be performed by
maintainers IS ineffective and uncoordinated.

I would not be opposed to this, if the infrastructure was in place - it
is not.

Note the last word of your sentence !!!! This is a completely different
message than that being communicated by FIASCO.

I see it as follows:

Some people don't seem to have understood the difference between
bootstrapping a distro from scratch and incrementally building a distro.

FE has been built incrementally without having the appropriate
infrastructure/QA in place. Now some people try to "clean up the mess"
by shooting with the proverbial canon at the proverbial
sparrows" (German proverb).

In the end you will be facing a similar mess as before, some things will
be have been ironed out but new ones will be introduced, because the
appropriate infrastructure still is not available.
