It probably would start up again if you leave it.  I see this now and
then.  There's a bug in libgcj's NIO socket code that impacts
performance.  I think somebody is working on a fix that hopefully will
be in FC6.

That's the one nice thing about our "alternatives" system.  You're not
locked into any specific implementation.
