Just do something like

  export WORKDIR=~/tmp/rpm/tmp

and move your build-files to somewhere else. Further:

This is a _user_ mistake with an easy way out for everyone who knows what
he's doing. As soon as it is made even easier to re-tag files, some users
will run into other problems.
