Trouble with the new Amarok version

Not sure if this helps or not, but I've been getting little amarok
notifications from helix about how it can't play mp3's...  as it
continues to play the mp3 files in question.  Maybe amarok is falling
back to xine-lib or gstreamer and not telling me, though.
