You'll find a lot of scientific software using bogus licensing
texts (usually meaning well, but since scientists are even less a
lawyer than the rest of us, it's like backfire on them).

Usually if you explain the issues to the authors they will gladly
review the licensing.

Maybe it would be helpful to have a licensing FAQ page in the wiki
which can be used to point authors to (maybe there already is one?).
