I had the identical problem with Sun Virtualbox.  I loaded the 'testing'
updates as noted in bug 488675:
imsettings-0.105.1-4.fc10 has been pushed to the Fedora 10 testing repository. 
If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
 If you want to test the update, you can install it with 
 su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update imsettings'.

This solved my problem with vbox crashing upon startup.  Errors in
imsettings-applet-bugreport.txt were IDENTICAL to errors noted at beginning of
this page.
