OK, did the update using the updates-testing as suggested in comment #7. This
appears to have made the imsettings crash go away, but I still can't install a
windoze program in wine.
I mention this because no error message is generated, and I can't say that the
problem is not imsettings related.
I would welcome someone contacting me with advice on how to make that
determination.
