It appears that the entire problem with booting the CowboyBoot installer<br>
from CD is due to the size of the initrd.img has gone beyond an EFI<br>
limit.  The easiest fix would be to remove any drivers for hardware that<br>
is not likely to ever exist on an ia64 system.  Note that this would<br>
include runtime also, not just install.<br>

This would fix the install issue and also make kernel builds go faster.<br>
<br>
Note that this list is based on my experience with HP hardware.  If you<br>
know of ia64 systems from other vendors that are likely to include this<br>
hardware please speak up.<br>
