Dear All,
          Mirror team at IIT Kanpur has decided to open up rsync on
trial basis.

1) If too much load on the server is observed, rsync port will be blocked.

2) Initially, rsync access will be provided only to IITs/NITs on
request. We hope that more public mirrors would emerge out of this.

3) Private mirrors may themselves can serve to other private mirrors to
spread open source without putting too much pressure on a single server.

4) rsync access request can be directed to "mirror [at] cse [dot] iitk
[dot] ac [dot] in"
