No, it's not what I said for a workaround. as I said, it works if
htt_server is running as root/your user rather than a htt user. I
mean, Canna LE already has the code to refer $HOME/.canna. but
htt_server seems to need the privileges to fully support the multiple
users.
I said, htt_server is running as a htt user right now. htt user has no
privileges. so htt_server gives LEs a htt user as current user. it's
also a reason why htt_server works if it's running as your user.

BTW severity is "normal". it's not lower severity, though.
