A Pentium 4 processor is compatible with the i686 build (the i686 instruction set is actually pre-pentium 3). You were using the correct install media. You might have better luck using the Live CD disk, booting into the graphical environment, and then installing to your harddrive. The instructions to do that are clearly given once you have the disk booted up. The Live CD gives you a smaller install, which may not have the problems of the DVD. You can then install any of the DVD software using the PackageKit Add/Remove program once you're running from your harddrive. The problem was that *libflashsupport* was not instaled so on doing so i went into terminal and tyeped *yum install libflashsupport *it worked but to make shure it did i resarted the computer and it still worked. In fact it only causes a problem when I am using the wireless NIC. When using the wired network my computer name gets registered on my router flawlessly. The router I am using is a SMC 2804WBR. NetworkManager is controlling both my wired and wireless NIC. I have adjusted ifcfg-wlan0 to match as much as possible to ifcfg-eth0. The hosts and network files should be okay as the wired network works well. Can someone give me a few pointers to what I should do? I can put the laptop to sleep but when it tries to wake up then I see thin vertical color fragmented lines. Followed by what appears to be a X windows mouse cursor. It continues in this loop every 5-10 seconds. I just converted to Linux trying to use it as a base with vmware running my windows xp (crap).
