Message-ID: <680210420.1597841259969553232.JavaMail.root@zmail02.collab.prod.int.phx2.redhat.com> Hi, I upgraded to F12 using the preupgrade over the internet option. I had done this with F11 with great success. Now that I can see the working desktop it is looking pretty much the same as my F11 setup. However I have a problem when I reboot in my docking station with the external monitor and the laptop screen closed. F12 seems to continue to default to using the monitor as an extension rather than a mirror. Therefore in my docking station - neatly tucked in under my desk - I can't do any work. I've tried to undock and mess with the Desktop settings and force it to mirror (and apply and close) and then reinstall in my docking station and restarting. Still uses my monitor as an extension and my laptop is rendered useless. So I'm typing this with the laptop off my docking station. Anyone have any ideas? FYI I installed system-config-display (I didn't have that already). But I ckinda cheated and just created a xorg.conf from yours and when I booted in the docking station I got something I could work with. Then I just Used System->Preferences->Display to get it looking cleaner and also set to mirror. So I didn't actually run system-config-display in the end. Thanks! I had again the Windows 7 installed because I needed to work and with a OS a little corrupted it's impossible. I will put the live CD again and install again, for diagnose. I had tried the 32-bit, still problems with the harddrive detection, the wireless/bt thing, plus the same kernel errors. No firefox because the addins for firefox is for 32bit system, but that is a adobe problem, not firefox or FC12 problem. It does not repeat for any length of time but sounds off when there is any sort of speaker activity - so a few times on boot and anytime there is a mail notificaiton from Zimbra etc. Since moving from F11 to F12 on my T61 I'm having this issue with my external speakers. It's louder than the normal audio so it's distracting and sometimes a little startling. It provides a start and stop icon on the desktop which displays asterisks for each second as the usb port is established. It then displays the status as the connection is made to your isp. It consists of two small c++ programs contained in a bash script. I have it currently working with Fedora 11 and would like any feedback or suggestions for features.
