Yum, by default, ignores packages that match "kernel*".  Edit your 
/etc/yum.conf file to change this.  Yum on 7.x mimics up2date on  7.x 
which did the same (ignore kernel by default).

This list is mostly for things related to the Fedora Legacy project.  
Red Hat currently hosts, and will continue to host, a end user mailing 
list for Red Hat Linux, with specific lists for each release.  I can't 
recall off the top of my head what the code name for 7.3 was, but the 
list will be named after the codename.
