Because we aren't using the idiotic method of splitting sub-arch packages 
up like Red Hat did with the Red Hat Linux project, but fixed with Fedora.  
We seperate by base arch, where i386 is a base arch, x86_64 is a base 
arch, sparc is a base arch...   i586, i686, athlon, these are all 
subarches of i386 and thus should reside in the same folder, as RPM, and 
all your other package management tools are capable of sorting them out.
