I'd like to know if your "conflict" user can get around the issue the 
same way I did. Seems to me like attempting the update in bulk mode with 
the rest of the updates might trigger some condition with the code that 
determines the dependencies for the package. The history of the user's 
  OS' origin and update sequence might also be relevant. [ars].
