and which version of k3b do you run? if you are below 0.10 then you are right, but if your version is > 0.10 then you will have this effect....you find it on http://k3b.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/index.pl/feedback search for 'k3bsetup' ...so perhaps installing version 0.9 and then update to 0.10 should bring help...
