atheros madwifi

Hi guys,
I had my wireless pcmcia card (atheros chipset) working fine with the 
madwifi driver from sourceforge on RH7.3 (2.4.22 vanilla kernel)

I switched to FC1,  the driver compiled ok, but *make install* failed with :

*/sbin/depmod -ae

*I tried this both on the stock FC1 kernel, and  on the vanilla 2.4.22 
kernel from kernel.org. and got the same results.
