I had the same trouble and after removing both the rpm and hdr file
in my local /var/spool/up2date dir. Then up2date/yum fetched a good
one and things installed fine.
In my case it was the src rpm file. I did not save the bad file
so I have no way to see what the trouble was.
Move your troubled .rpm+.hdr files off to a scratch dir and
give it a retry.
