Well, even though a "linux" terminal is similar to a vt100, I think
it's pretty likely that the Fx keys don't behave as they do on a VTxxx
terminal.

I know a whole lot less about minicom. I *think* it actually provides
some terminal emulations, maybe (or maybe not) you can coerce it to do
what you want.

or maybe by finding out what the "send" key actually does, you could
find a way to do the same thing through another mechanism.
