In case you haven't already grabbed one of the rpm's from the previous
posts. Sun DOES have an rpm bin listed on their site.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
Specifically:
Linux RPM in self-extracting file (info)
under Download J2SE v 1.4.2_02. Just run the bin to extract the rpm,
then rpm -Uvh (or -ivh, whichever you prefer) it. It will install java
to /usr/java.
