I'd guess you're somewhere trying to use Kerberos passwording? Not sure 
how to change it to regular if that's what's being done. If you *want* 
to use Kerberos, try getting that admin involved in the question, too.

Of course, that assumes "KDC" is "Kerberos Domain Controller".
