Is this a solution to duplicate emails?

You can make it work indirectly. When I used evolution I still used
procmail to filter incoming mail into different folders, and then ran an
imap server and pointed evolution at the imap server. This is obviously
a little less efficient, but it means I can read my mail from different
machines, and I can switch mail clients without worrying about what
format the mail folders need to be in.
