rpm --nodeps vs. yum/apt

 If all updates are available in one directory (please move the kernel rpms 
elsewhere) you do not need the --nodeps option. An "rpm -Fv *.rpm" 
suffices. Again, move out the kernel rpms if you do not want to overwrite 
your existing kernel before proceeding.
