Physical access to ANY machine will make ALL software security measures
on that machine worth squat. I can go up to any of our production MS
Windows servers with a knoppix CD an kill it in no time, just as I can
do the same to our production Linux and Solaris servers.
Also, if you forget the root password, you have a way to recover it.
Otherwise you would need to do a re-install. That is why at the fortuen
500 company that I am a programmer at, we have security guards and you
need badges to swipe against a digital scanner to get into it. If
someone can put their hands on any computer, they can break it.
