For a CD-RW, you can consider using tar or dump. However, there
are better alternatives; layered, hardlinked hard disk -to- hard
disk backups are much cheaper, faster, and easier to recover from.
Look for "backuppc", "dirvish", or "mike rubel"&"rsync" with your
favorite search engine. Also check out my incomplete but growing
page at http://www.keithl.com/linuxbackup.html . The perfect
hard disk to hard disk alternative isn't here yet, but this is
already a much better way to go than tapes and CD-RW .
