So, *you* told her, as she wasn't able to figure that one out by
herself? I see, ease of use...

And she figured out the firewall all by herself? Wow!

What I'm getting at: What you describe is exactly what gets
underestimated: Most of the average users *can* use Windows - but
*only* because they have someone like "you" holding their hand. And
that's no different at all from doing the same on a Linux system.
