problem booting Core 1 after install

After installing, fsck keeps giving me the error
signal 11 when it runs on the / filesystem, and Fedora
will not boot after that.  It sends me to a diagnostic
shell, reboots, and reoccurs.

Computer:  Duron XP 1200 w/ 256 MB Ram, Sis 630
onboard video

Any ideas?
