Would "Replacements" be a better appellation than "Alternatives"?
For any given X, while I might expect to find X coexisting with
its alternatives Y and Z (think Vim, Emacs), I would not expect X to
coexist with its replacements. In fact, if Y replaces X, and I have Y
installed, I wouldn't expect to find X at all.

Just a suggestion.
