OpenOffice doesnt work anymore after migration to FC1

I haven't said this before since some people did it successfully but
upgrading from RH 9 to FC1 using the upgrade option seems to me to be
counter-productive. There are critical things it seems to me that will
not be upgraded correctly. Open Office could well be one.
Where will yum come from if you do this?
